About Pink Lotus Thangka

Pink Lotus Thangka is based in St Annes-on-sea, Lancashire in the north west of England specialising in Tibetan Buddhist Thangkas, Tibetan crafts and Dharma goods from the Kathmandu valley in Nepal. We have for many years now supplied Thangka art of the very highest quality to many countries worldwide through our website and at our retail outlet which is based in St Annes-on-sea. We are committed to providing products created with ethics and to the highest quality.

As such we established our own workshop in Kathmandu called, “Pink Lotus Dharma Merchandising Co.”, which we set up to establish ethical trading and to help the Nepalese support themselves economically. Thus we can also ensure our employees are paid a fair wage and that the merchandise is made to our own high standards. The workshop in Kathmandu employs around 20 Nepali craftsmen and women.

As well as helping by economical methods, we also run a UK based charity called DCWC Nepal, were we are engaged in many different projects to enrich the lives of the poor in Nepal. Please see the link to DCWC Nepal on our home page.

Our friends from the Kathmandu valley belong to a long linage of top quality Thangka painters and, as such, we have access to some of the finest Thangka paintings the Tibetan Buddhist world has to offer. Many of these beautiful Thangka’s have been shown in Exhibitions in Europe and America. The artists that bring you these beautiful Thangkas are striving to keep their Thangka tradition alive, by maintaining a Thangka school in Nepal. Here talented Thangka painters are taught to further improve their skills, by several different Thangka masters.
